Sri Lanka is a magical island off the southern tip of India. Miles of uncluttered sandy beaches caressed gently by ocean breeze that gleam pearl like in the brilliant sunshine. Island, frothing waterfalls tumble form mist – shrouded peaks. Nature blooms, lush and verdant, covering all with her mantle of green. Amidst this bounty flourished a rich ancient culture embellished by the more recent influence of Western colonisers and eastern traders, a mercurial mix of races and religions that result in dynamic, vibrant people. It is not just tourist sites to be visited, there is a wealth of wayside markets, handicrafts shops and batil factories to be explored. If you would like to you can watch craftsmen at work, gems being mined, tea leaves being plucked; venture out to watch elephants frolic and play as they are bathed in rivers or fishermen on stilts haul in the day’s catch – we give you every opportunity to look into the heart of the country, feel the music of the culture and be touched by the warmth of her people.
