Day 1: Kota Kinabalu
Meet and assisted upon arrival at Kota Kinabalu International Airport. Transfer to hotel in Kota Kinabalu city. Proceed for Half-Day City Tour. Visit the Heritage Village & museum for a closer view of Sabah’s ethnic diversity highlighted by the unique local architectural styles of homes in North Borneo and the colourful costume display. Then, capture a panoramic view of the city from Signal Hill before proceeding for a City drive by major landmarks such as the State & City Mosque, Tg. Aru Beach & the highest building, Tun Mustapha Tower. Overnight Kota Kinabalu.
Day 2: Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park
Breakfast at the hotel.A short walk to the town jetty for a boat journey to the Tunku Abdul Rahman Island Park. A day of relaxation under the swaying palms and enjoy snorkelling or swimming in the crystal blue waters. At midday, lunch is served. Late afternoon, return to hotel in the city. BL
Day 3: Kinabalu Park & Poring Hot Springs
Breakfast at the hotel. An early departure northbound to the Crocker Range where the Majestic Mount Kinabalu resides and on to the Poring Hot springs. Opportunity to venture up the canopy walkway for a tete-a-tete with the birds, jungle trek to a bat cave or waterfall and take a hot sulfur bath to sooth your muscles. Depart for lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, visit the Kinabalu Park where you will find the biggest collection of flora and fauna. Join a guided trail walk and visit the Mountain Garden. Late afternoon return to the city. BL
Day 4: Kota Kinabalu-Kuching
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport for flight to Kuching. Arrive at Kuching and airport and transfer to hotel. Proceed for city tour. The perfect introduction to Sarawak’s historic capital, this tour includes Kuching’s Chinatown, the Cat Statue (Kuching means “Cat” in Malay), the colourful Tua Pek Kong Chinese Temple, the Civic Centre Viewing Platform and the world famous Sarawak Museum. Return via the golden-domed City Mosque and proceed on foot through Old Kuching, and squeezing through narrow alleyways crammed with spice dealers and textile shops. Pass by the heritage buildings of the White Rajah era, the Pavilion, the Square Tower, the Court House, the Charles Brooke Monument and the Post Office. We will view the Astana, the former residence of the White Rajahs from across the river at the Kuching Waterfront. Overnight in Kuching. B
Day 5: Kuching-Lemanak Longhouse
Breakfast at hotel. The journey by road of 225 kms long takes you pass lush, scenic countryside doted with small roadside towns, farmhouses, Malay, Chinese and Bidayuh villages, pepper orchards, rubber and oil palm plantations interpersed with creeper-covered trees of the secondary jungle and tall gigantic trees of primary rainforest. Stopover at Serian for a short tour of the town. Continue your journey to Lachau or another roadside town for lunch until you reach the Lemanak River where you will board a motorised longboat for a thrilling ride – travelling upstream against the flow of the water.
Arrive at Serubah or Nanga Kesit longhouse and experience for yourself a way of life that goes back many centuries. Take a dip or swim in the cool water of the Lemanak River. Dinner at a guesthouse equipped with basic amenities. In the evening, entertainment by the longhouse residents will consist of traditional dances to the music of the gongs and drinking tuak (rice wine). Stay a night in the guesthouse, built specially by the residents for guests’ accommodation, in the heartland of Borneo rainforest, one of the oldest in the world. Accommodation at the Longhouse.
Day 6: Lemanak-Semenggoh Wildlife Centre-Kuching
Depart for Kuching via the same route. Lunch is served at a local cafe en-route. Upon arrival in Kuching you will then proceed to the Semenggoh Wildlife Centre to catch the feeding time of the orang utans. The best place in Sarawak to view semi-wild orang utans, who have been rescued from captivity and trained to survive in the surrounding forest reserve. The rehabilitated animals roam freely in the rain forest, and often return to the centre at feeding time. Thanks to the successful breeding programme at Semenggoh there is a good possibility of experiencing one of the most heart-warming sights in Borneo – an orang utan mother with a young baby. The centre is 30 mins drive from Kuching and another 20 mins on foot. Along the way visitors pass by the ethno-botanical gardens, with their unique collection of rain-forest plants. Semengoh also has a number of short collection of rain-forest plants, short jungle trails and optional forest walks can be incorporated into the tour. Overnight in Kuching. BL

Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to the airport for your onward flight or extend your stay. B
