See Rajasthan in all its splendors and the Taj Mahal at Agra…A journey into the past on a Luxury train. It’s a journey worthy of kings. No wonder the experience is labeled “The Royal Rajasthan on Wheels”. Travel through Rajasthan on a splendid and enchanting journey through the former royal kingdoms of this state. The exquisite and exclusive Royal Rajasthan on wheels has luxurious cabins, wall to wall carpeting, a well stocked bar, two dining cars and a very personalized services… in fact, almost everything that could compromise of heaven on earth for seven days.      


Day 1 Friday : Delhi
Welcome at Delhi airport followed by transfer to your hotel.

Day 2 Saturday : Delhi
Today’s sightseeing of Delhi introduces you to the different faces of the capital, contemporary Indian, Raj relic, conservative Hindu, Mughal….. 

Day 3 Sunday : Delhi   
This afternoon you will be transferred to the station to board the Palace on Wheels luxury train to begin your seven nights train journey.

Day 4 Monday : Jodhpur
Morning sightseeing excursion of Jodhpur. Visit the Mehrangarh Fort, which overlooks the city as well as the grand palaces and imposing cenotaphs of former rulers. Dinner and travel overnight to Udaipur

Day 5 Tuesday : Udaipur & Chittorgarh
Morning sightseeing tour of Udaipur, stopping first at City Palace where you will marvel at rooms with mirrored walls, ivory doors, coloured glass windows and inlaid marvel balconies. Also visit the lovely Sahelion – ki – Bari gardens; the Jagdish temples and the local fold museum. Later continue on to visit Chittorgarh. There is no where in Rajasthan with a History more romantic than that of Chittaorgarh. Dinner and travel overnight to Ranthambore.

Day 6 Wednesday : Ranthambore & Jaipur
This morning you are taken to Ranthambore National Park for game viewing. Ranthambore abounds in scenic beauty and is a refuge for the famous Bengal tiger. Return to the Royal Rajasthan on Wheels for lunch and travel onto Jaipur. Arrive at the magnificent Pink city of Jaipur this afternoon, where you will be taken on a half day tour including the splendid Hawa Mahal, the city palace and Amber Fort. Dinner at Hotel Jai Mahal Palace with cultural program.

Day 7 Thursday : Khajuraho
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and get ready to explore the erotic architecture of the temples of Khajuraho. Located in Madhya Pradesh, Khajuraho is renowned for its architecture and exquisite sculptures. Built between 950 and 1050 AD in a truly inspired burst of creativity, the temples are superb examples of Indo-Aryan architecture. The highly sensual engravings depict the whole range of human emotions and relationships. Dinner and travel overnight to Varanasi.

Day 8 Friday : Varanasi 
Begin the morning with a scenic cruise on the river Ganges. Watch the sunrise over the river amidst the sound of temple bells and religious chants. Witness the spectacle of pilgrims ritually bathing, holy men practicing yoga and invoking the dawn. Continue for a walk through the twisting alleys absorbing the hustle and bustle of the Old City. Following lunch, visit the ancient ruins of Sarnath, where Buddha delivered his first sermon expounding the principles of Buddhism. Visit the ruins, stupa and the Ashoka Pillar, whose four back-to-back lions have been adopted as India’s national emblem.

Day 9 Saturday : Agra
Arrive in Bharatpur and take an excursion to the National Bird Sanctuary, the former hunting preserve of the royal family of Bharatpur and home to a vast variety of birdlife as well as snakes, lizards and monkeys. You will then visit the deserted city of Fatehpur Sikri en route to Agra. On arrival in Agra visit the impressive Red Fort and the Taj Mahal. Dinner and travel overnight to Delhi.

Day 10 Sunday : Delhi  
Arrive in Delhi where you will disembark. You will be met on arrival and transferred to the airport for your homebound flight.
