Day 1 Monday: Delhi
Welcome at Delhi airport followed by transfer to your hotel.
Day 2 Tuesday: Delhi
Today’s sightseeing of Delhi introduces you to the different faces of the capital, contemporary Indian, Raj relic, conservative Hindu, Mughal…..
Day 3 Wednesday: Delhi
This afternoon you will be transferred to the station to board the Palace on Wheels luxury train to begin your seven nights train journey.
Day 4 Thursday : Jaipur
Today your excursion of Jaipur includes a visit to the Amber Fort. Tour the chambers and hallways of the palace. Later visit the unique Jantar Mantar Observatory; the City Palace and its museum; and Hawa Mahal known as the Palace on Winds. Travel overnight to Sawai Madhopur.
Day 5 Sunday : Ranthambore & Chittaurgarh
This morning you are taken to Ranthambore National Park for game viewing. Ranthambore abounds in scenic beauty and is a refuge for the famous Bengal tiger. Return to the Palace on Wheels for lunch on board, watching the colourful countryside unfold as you travel to Chittaurgarh. There is no where in Rajasthan with a History more romantic than that of Chittaurgarh. Dinner and travel overnight to Udaipur.
Day 6 Monday : Udaipur
Morning sightseeing tour of Udaipur, stopping first at City Palace where you will marvel at rooms with mirrored walls, ivory doors, coloured glass windows and inlaid marvel balconies. Also visit the lovely Sahelion – ki – Bari gardens; the Jagdish temples and the local fold museum. Travel overnight to Jaisalmer.
Day 7 Friday : Jaisalmer
Sightseeing excursion of Jaisalmer, located in the heart of the Great Indian Desert. The yellow sandstone fort is an imposing sight, towering magnificently over the city. Discover the beautiful havelis with their grand facades. During the afternoon experience a camel ride over the sand dunes to view the sun setting whilst Rajasthan folk musicians play haunting tunes. Enjoy dinner with a cultural program in Jaisalmer, returning to the train to travel overnight to Jodhpur.
Day 8 Saturday : Jodhpur
Morning sightseeing excursion of Jodhpur. Visit the Mehrangarh Fort, which overlooks the city as well as the grand palaces and imposing cenotaphs of former rulers. Dinner and travel overnight to Sawai Madhopur.
Day 9 Tuesday : Bharatpur
Arrive in Bharatpur and take an excursion to the National Bird Sanctuary, the former hunting preserve of the royal family of Bharatpur and home to a vast variety of birdlife as well as snakes, lizards and monkeys. You will then visit the deserted city of Fatehpur Sikri en route to Agra. On arrival in Agra visit the impressive Red Fort and the Taj Mahal. Dinner and travel overnight to Delhi.
Day 10 Wednesday : Delhi
Arrive in Delhi where you will disembark. You will be met on arrival and transferred to the airport for your homebound flight.
