Day 1 Sunday: Bangalore
Welcome at Bangalore airport followed by transfer to your hotel.
Day 2 Monday: Bangalore
This afternoon meet the other passengers at the Blue Ginger restaurant at the Leela Palace Hotel for lunch followed by sightseeing of the city. Visit Vidhana Soudha, the beautiful botanical gardens of Lal Bagh, St Mark’s Cathedral and enjoy some shopping at MG Road. Late afternoon board the train and begin your seven night journey on the Golden Chariot. Travel overnight to Mysore.
Day 3 Tuesday: Mysore – Kabini – Bandipur
Overnight excursion to Nagarhole National Park, once the hunting lodge of the Maharajahs of Mysore featuring steep valleys, rich forests and spectacular pools. Enjoy a game safari in the national park.
Day 4 Wednesday: Kabini – Mysore
This morning drive back to Mysore. Lunch on board the Golden Chariot. This afternoon visit Srirangapatnam, the island fortress of the legendry warrior king Tipu Sultan and the Mysore Palace. Enjoy a cultural show along with dinner at the Lalitha Mahal Palace. Travel overnight
Day 5 Thursday: Mysore – Hassan – Hospet
This morning enjoy an excursion to Shravanbelagola an important Jain pilgrim centre. It is home to Asia’s largest monolithic statue of Lord Gomateswara. This afternoon enjoy and excursion to Belur and Halebid built in the 12th and 13th century in baroque style, these stone carved temples are truly magnificent. Travel overnight to Hospet.
Day 6 Friday: Hospet – Hampi – Hospet
Today you will visit the world heritage site of Hampi, one of the most beautiful and evocative ruins in Karnataka. The Vithala temples with its musical pillars and the stone chariot are some of the stunning attractions at this world’s famous site. Travel overnight to Badami.
Day 7 Saturday: Hospet – Badami – Goa
This morning enjoy a full day excursion to Pattadakal which has ten major temples, on the banks of River Malaprabha, representing early Chalukyan architecture. You will end the day with a visit to Badami, where the cave temples are hewn out of solid rock, in a magical setting. Travel overnight to Goa.
Day 8 Sunday: Goa
Drive to Candolim to enjoy the splendid beaches of Goa followed by a visit to churches in Old Goa and to a Portuguese house. Travel overnight to Goa.
Day 09 Monday: Bangalore
Arrive in Bangalore midday where you will disembark. You will be met on arrival and transferred to the airport for your homebound flight.
